This is a yellow lacy cowl.

This is a lacy yellow cowl made with a sports weight yarn on a size 6 24" circular needle. The pattern is super easy and the scarf ring is very pretty. Even though the scarf is made from a lace pattern (i.e. lots of holes) the scarf keeps you warm and cozy.

The scarf was also a pleasure to make. I like the fact that there wasn't too much of weaving in the end. In fact, once you learn the four rows that make up the pattern repeat, the knitting was pretty mindless. And the fact that you are doing circular knitting made it possible for you to knit on and on without quite reaching the end. In fact, that can be a drawback for some people. As Alice pointed out, there is a pleasure in reaching the end of a row. And since there is no end, I found it hard to stop knitting this thing and taking a break or go do something else. But still I prefer this circular type of knitting where there is no need to worry about stitch count, constantly stopping and starting when you reach the end/beginning of a row, or shaping. The pattern is great for facilitating thinking, a knitting equivalent of a stationary bicycle: you are burning the calories without going anywhere; you are getting a lovely scarf without any disturbance to your knit and think process.
